Little Miss Pageant Rules
Listed below are the rules for the Little Miss Shippensburg Community Fair Pageant.  If you have any questions about these rules or requirements, please contact CJ Ezell or Juanita Mills, chairpersons for the event.
 

2009 Little Miss Shippensburg Fair Pageant Rules

  1. Contestants must be between the ages of 6 and 8, as of July 20, 2009.

  2. Contestants must be a resident of Shippensburg or surrounding area and a U.S. Citizen.  Acceptance of applications from non-Shippensburg residents will be at the committee's discretion.

  3. Mandatory rehearsals will be held Tuesday, July 14th at 5:30 PM and Thursday, July 16th at 5:30 PM at the fairgrounds stage.

  4. Each contestant must have a sponsor.  A sponsor can be an organization or business.

  5. Each contestant will submit a completed entry form, $25 entry fee, one (1) recent picture, and a brief biography to be included in the local newspapers and Little Miss program.  You may use the entry form as a guide for the biography.  Note:  Biographies will be printed as they are received.  Please make sure it is written the way you want it to appear.

  6. Entries are due by May 15, 2009.  On the first 16 paid entries will be accepted.

  7. Contestants will appear in a "Sunday Best" dress with appropriate accessories.  Pageant dresses are not permitted.

  8. Contestants must look their age.  No make-up (with the exception of lip gloss) is permitted.  Contestants wearing make-up will not be considered for the title of Little Miss Shippensburg Fair or Little Miss Princess.

  9. Each contestant will be judged on an interview, appearance, poise, self-confidence, personality and speaking ability.

  10. One (1) female adult may accompany each contestant backstage before the contest.

  11. If crowned Little Miss Shippensburg Community Fair or Little Miss Princess, contestant agrees to participate in fair activities, July 20 to 25, 2009.  Schedules for fair week will be distributed at the rehearsals.

  12. Little Miss Shippensburg Fair and Little Miss Princess agree to represent the fair at various activities throughout the year and agree to return in July 2010 to assist in the crowning of the new Little Miss Shippensburg Fair and Little Miss Princess.

  13. Little Miss Shippensburg Community Fair and Little Miss Princess must have an adult chaperone with her at all times.  This chaperone is in addition to a Fair Queen Committee member.

  14. Contestant agrees to abide by all the rules of the contest.  Good sportsmanship is a must by the contestant, her family and guests.

  15. Decisions of the judges are final.  No score sheets or judges comments will be given out following the competition.
