FREE Admission! Visit the Next2Nothing Web Site! BIOGRAPHY Chris Clugh is the front man of Next 2 Nothing. While he started as a drummer (and continues to be great at it), he has grown to be a great singer, guitar player and songwriter. His voice and heart are key ingredients to the Next 2 Nothing sound. Chris and his wife Andrea have been married since December of 1998 and have two young sons, Zayin Elijah and Will Taylor. Chris is a graduate of the Shippensburg Area School District. He then attended Huntington University (formerly Huntington College) in Huntington, IN and graduated with a BS in Youth Ministry. For the past 12 years, Chris has been serving as the full time youth pastor at the Mt. Rock Brethren In Christ Church. He has been involved in youth ministry in some way for nearly 15 years. He loves teens and is passionate about seeing them develop as committed disciples of Jesus. Chris is also the worship leader at the church. In addition to leading people in worship, he enjoys golf, playing music, hiking, and spending time with his boys. Brodie Hutchins covers the guitars and backing vocals of Next 2 Nothing. He is also responsible for writing or co-writing many of the Next 2 Nothing songs. His guitar work is an integral part of the Next 2 Nothing sound. Brodie has been married to Pamela since 1995. “She’s the icing in my Oreo!” They have three children Vivienne, Alex and Max. They attend and participate at the Mt. Rock Brethren in Christ Church. Brodie is a graduate of Shippensburg Area High School, holds a BA degree from Messiah College in Commercial Art and an MBA from Frostburg State University. He is the General Manager of the Wirtgen Group’s Vogele America, Inc. "I'm still trying to figure out how an Eric Clapton wannabe ended up as a business geek!" Brodie has been infatuated with the guitar since birth and had a ukulele as his primary toy until beginning to play seriously in the 1980's. He has played with several bands over the past 20+ years including several pick-up bands during the Messiah College days; M.A.S. (Mutual Admiration Society) and 3 Days Journey. When Brodie is not working or playing with Next 2 Nothing he can be found writing songs, collecting guitars, repairing guitars, drinking coffee, serving as a youth leader, riding his Harley-Davidson and spending time with his family. Every great band has a solid foundation and Scott Eckenrode certainly takes care of the low frequencies for Next 2 Nothing as the bassist and backing vocalist. He is also a degreed audio engineer and takes care of managing the N2N sound crew. Scott and his wife Amy celebrated their 6th wedding anniversary this year. They have two boys, Carter and Cole. Scott and Amy met at Mt. Rock Brethren In Christ Church where they currently attend and serve. Scott is a graduate from Northeastern High School in York, PA. After graduation he moved to Philadelphia to pursue a career as an Audio Engineer. During his time in Philadelphia, Scott worked as an audio engineer with many different artists including Rebecca St. James. After two years he decided to settle down back in Shippensburg where he spent several years as a child. Scott is the Manager of Business Development for RSR & Joyful Noise Sound Proofing. Scott began his musical background at the age of 11 when he received his first guitar. He was the lead guitarist and back-up singer for a Christian band during high school and continued to play guitar until transitioning over to the bass. During his down time, Scott enjoys music, playing guitar, serving as a youth leader, riding motorcycles and spending time with his wife and sons. Kevin Okuley is the time machine for Next 2 Nothing. He provides the pace and the pounding energy of the Next 2 Nothing sound. Unlike many drummers, Kevin’s backing vocals are a key part of the full harmonies found in the Next 2 Nothing sound. While Kevin is still waiting on the one that he is to be with for the rest of his life, he is enjoying spending time with his friends and just having fun. Kevin moved to Shippensburg in 1994 and attended the Shippensburg School District until he graduated in 2005. He furthered his education at the Universal Technical Institute where he earned a degree in Automotive Technology in 2006. During that time, he lived in West Chester, PA which proved to be “an experience.” Kevin is currently employed with Vogele America doing a little bit of everything from building heavy highway machinery to working in the shipping department. Although he still desires a career in music, he enjoys what he does and is very happy. Kevin has been interested in singing and music since a very young age. He was always in the children’s choir as a kid and enjoyed singing all through his adolescent years. In the 5th grade, Kevin began the trumpet. In the 8th grade, Kevin went from singing in the youth group band to playing the bass. That’s when it all began! From that time on he went from the bass to teaching himself guitar and eventually took up the drums. He's his own band! |
